The Artist
A decade of drawing in the dark
June works alone in a converted grain store with one north-facing window, in the mediums that forgive the least — chalk, charcoal, graphite and ink. Her signature works reverse the drawing itself: white chalk on black canvas, so that every mark is a mark of light.
Each original leaves the studio framed behind museum glass, with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
About JuneCommissions
The most important drawings are the ones that don’t exist yet.
Portraits, wildlife, companions, places that matter. A limited number of commissions are taken each season.
From Collectors
Words sent back to the studio
“The portrait of our old greyhound arrived and my husband, who has not cried in the eleven years I've known him, left the room. It is him. Not a picture of him — him.”
“We acquired 'The Ridge' for our reading room and the space has never been the same. In the evening the drawing seems to hold the last of the light. Guests stop mid-sentence.”
“June guided us through our first ever art acquisition with extraordinary patience. The certificate, the framing, the delivery — every detail felt considered.”
The Studio Letter
First viewing of every new original
Collectors on the list see new work before it reaches the gallery, along with occasional letters from the studio. A few a year — nothing more.
