Introducing: The White on Black Collection

This month the studio's chalk-on-canvas works are gathered into a named collection for the first time: White on Black. It includes every major chalk piece from the last five years, from 'The Ridge' to the beginnings of the Nocturne series.

Collections are, honestly, a device — the work was never made to a theme. But standing the pieces together revealed something I hadn't seen while making them one at a time: they are all, in some way, drawings of patience. Light arriving slowly at dark places.

Several works in the collection remain available for acquisition, and each is listed in the gallery with its full provenance. The larger pieces I am glad to discuss by appointment, ideally in person — chalk work at scale simply does not photograph honestly.

To everyone who has followed this work since the first small black scraps: the collection page is, quietly, for you. Thank you for a decade of letting me keep the lights off.
